The Move-In Deep Clean Checklist That Actually Matters
Whether you are moving into Alpharetta, Milton, Cumming, or Roswell, the house looks empty and therefore 'clean enough' until you open a cabinet. Previous lives live in drawers, oven racks, and the track of every sliding door.
Do this work before the truck arrives. Cleaning around boxes is how move-in day turns into a month of half-done chores.
Inside everything, not just the obvious rooms
Cabinets, drawers, pantry shelves, and the refrigerator interior. Wipe, dry, then load. Appliances that look fine from the front often still have the last owner's crumbs.
Bathrooms need a true grout and glass pass. Kitchens need the range, hood, and sink base. Those are the rooms you will touch on day one.
Floors last, windows if you can
Dust high to low, then vacuum and mop once the upper work is done. Window glass and tracks make a new house feel finished, especially in bright North Georgia light.
If the timeline is tight, hire a move-in clean and spend your energy on utilities, keys, and the first night setup. That split is how people actually enjoy the first week.
A move-in deep clean is a reset, not a tidy. Empty house, inside the cabinets, then floors — then the boxes.
